Benevolence and Local Missions

Benevolence is essentially the desire to do good to others.  This is a huge reason why we exist!   Helping the needy in our community, the surrounding areas, and beyond.  If you have a heart for others and would love to put our church to work in missions, this is likely your calling.  At its core, this committee will assist the church in establishing and administering its missions program and seek to “do good” to others in times of need.

Building and Grounds

This committee makes the church a welcoming and safe environment.  We are blessed to have building and grounds expertise within our congregation.  This committee oversees building maintenance and repairs, organizes congregational work-days, works to improve the buildings and grounds.  Working alongside our trustees, this committee will tend to the daily needs of the building, inspect all church properties periodically as well as managing the maintenance and safety of the church vans.

Worship and Music

Love music?  Desire a powerful and effective worship service every Sunday?  This is a great committee for you!  You will assist the pastor in planning the order and content of worship services, and making recommendations about regular, and special services. 
Other responsibilities include:
Arrange for special music for special services, see that worship is meaningful for children and adults.  Oversee preparation for baptisms and communion.    Ensure that worship equipment is sufficient, and music and multimedia technology Is effective for spiritual growth.  

Children and Family

Children are not just the future of the church, but the church right now!  The primary purpose of this committee is to plan, coordinate, promote, and implement programs to meet the spiritual and social needs of children and their families.  Some duties include: Planning the nursery schedule, selecting children’s education curriculum, planning and overseeing annual Vacation Bible School.  The committee will also ensure that facilities are family friendly and make recommendations for improvements.   Ensure necessary crafts, snacks, materials, etc. are available for children’s church and nursery.  Planning children and family special events/trips.

Special Events and Outreach

This committee will assist the congregation in planning major special events and organizing fellowship meals.  Annual duties include: organizing Christmas Eve Candlelight service, Home for Christmas Meal and Bazaar, Thanksgiving meal, Easter celebrations, and other holiday/celebrations.  This committee will also work to recognize special achievements within the congregation.
