quillThe Bible and Salvation

We Believe the Bible is the fully inspired Word of God, without error and accurate in all things to which it speaks, and so is the supreme and final standard and authority for all matters of faith, opinion and conduct.

(Romans 15:4; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Mark 13:31; John 8:31-32; John 20:31; Acts 20:32)

user God The Father, The Son & The Holy Spirit

We Believe in one God, eternally existing in three equally divine persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

(Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:16–17; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1, 3; John 4:24; John 10:30; John 14:9–10; Romans 1:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 4:5)

We Believe God is the creator of all things and that He created man in His own image, male and female.

(Genesis 1; Genesis 2:7, 21-22; Nehemiah 9:6; John 1:3; Acts 17:24–28; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Colossians 1:16; Revelation 4:11)

We Believe God calls us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love our fellow man as we love ourselves.

(Deuteronomy 6:5; Matthew 22:37-40; Mark 12:30-31; Ephesians 1:4)

We Believe that Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit, true God and true man, and that He is the Savior of the world.

(Colossians 2:9, John 3:16, John 1:1,14)

  • We Believe in Jesus Christ’s virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings.

(Luke 1:26-38; 1 Peter 2:21–23, Matthew 1:18-25, 1 Timothy 3:16, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 9:28; John 20:28,30-31)

  • We Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, suffering the penalty for sin, satisfying the wrath of God, and reconciling us to God.

(John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 15:1-5, Romans 5:6-8, Hebrews 1:3; Romans 6:9-10)

  • We Believe in Jesus Christ’s bodily resurrection on the third day, His ascension into heaven, and His personal visible return to earth to judge the living and the dead.

(2 Timothy 4:1, Acts 1:11, 1 Corinthians 15:1-5, 1 Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 9:28)

  • We Believethat by his death and resurrection Jesus Christ broke the power of sin and death and reconciled to God all who repent and put their faith in Him.

(I Corinthians 15:3; I Peter 2:24; Acts 17:30-31; Romans 3:24)

  • We Believe in Jesus Christ’s unending intercession for His people.

(Romans 5:20, 8:31-34; Hebrews 7:25)

We Believe that, by the power of the Holy Spirit, believers receive new birth.

(John 3:1-8, 1 Peter 1:22-23)

  • We Believe that the Holy Spirit lives within, sanctifies and empowers all who place their faith in Jesus Christ.

(1 Corinthians 6:11, Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19; Galatians 5:22–26)

  • We Believe that the Holy Spirit is an abiding helper, teacher and guide. (John 14:16-17, 14:26, 15:26-27; John 16:5–15; Galatians 5:22–26)

We Believe that man’s sin places him under the just condemnation and wrath of God, making him lost and hopeless without Jesus Christ.

(Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23; 1 John 1:7)

We Believe salvation from the just condemnation and wrath of God comes only by God’s grace through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

(Romans 1:18-32: Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 2:38; Romans 3:21-25)

We Believe that salvation is found in no one other than Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.

(Matthew 26:28; Romans 5:8–11; Ephesians 2:8–9; Acts 4:12)

eye Heaven, Hell, & Sin

We Believe God has appointed a day of final judgment to judge each person according to what he has done.

(Matthew 25:31; II Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 20:11-12)

  • We Believe those who put their faith in Jesus Christ are, by God’s grace alone, forgiven of their sins and righteous in God’s sight and so inherit eternal life.

(John 3:16; Eph 2:8-9; Acts 10:38)

  • We believe those who do not put their faith in Jesus Christ remain condemned and under God’s wrath because of their sins, and so are doomed to eternal separation from God and eternal conscious suffering in hell.
(Romans 8:10–11; Daniel 12:2; John 6:47)
  The Church

We Believe in the universal Church, which is the living spiritual body of Christ, has Christ as its head, and consists of all people everywhere who have repented and believed in the Lord Jesus Christ.

(I Corinthians 1:2; Ephesians 1:22-23; 4:4-5,11-16; 5:25-32)

  • We Believe in the local church, which is a local congregation of the universal Church associated for worship, work and fellowship, which observes the ordinances of Christ, is governed by His laws, and exercises the gifts, rights, privileges and responsibilities invested in the church by the Word of God.

(I Corinthians 1:2; Revelation 1-2)

  • We Believe the elders of the local church are to shepherd the local church.

(Matthew 16:13–18; Acts 2:14–47; Acts 20:28; 1 Timothy 3:1–7; 1 Peter 5:1–4)

We Believe the Lord Jesus Christ established two ordinances, namely baptism and The Lord’s Supper, and that these ordinances must be honored and observed by the church.

(Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; I Corinthians 11:23-26)

  • We Believe that baptism is an outward testimony of a person’s belief in Christ by immersion in water.

(Acts 2:38; Greek baptizo = to immerse, dip, submerge)

  • We Believe that The Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for remembrance of His death and should be celebrated regularly.

(I Corinthians 11:20-26)

We Believe that Christians are called with a holy calling, not to walk after the lusts of their sinful natures, but after the Holy Spirit, and so to live in the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit.

(Romans 6; 8:1-17; Galatians 5:13-26)

We Believe that it is the privilege and responsibility of all believers to witness to the saving grace of faith in Jesus Christ and to exercise their spiritual gifts for the building up of His church.

(I Peter 3:15; I Corinthians 12:4-7; 14:12; Romans 12:3-8)
