At Owingsville Christian Church we desire to see everyone growing in their relationship with the Lord.
Our model for growth reflects our mission statement; (to Lead, Serve, and Love one another and Love God) but begins with a process that starts with the greatest commandment of all LOVE:
Our growth model is a process that starts from the core.
 1.) To LOVE GOD
We know that Jesus didn’t save us where we are to leave us where we are!
Movement is key but doing do without the Holy Spirit’s guidance is impossible.  New life in Christ begins with our admission that we believe Jesus is who He says He is (John 14:6) and our surrender to Him as Lord (Romans 12:1-2).  To love God is to be passionate about pleasing God!
2.) To GROW with one another
Edification…  A fancy word that is literally translated “the building of a home”.  The apostle Paul is adamant throughout his letters that Christians must build one another up with our words and actions (Check out Romans 14:19; 15:2; Ephesians 4:29; 1 Thessalonians 5:11, 1 Corinthians 10:23, Ephesians 4:16)
Sanctification… Another fancy word that is translated “to be set apart”.
As Christians, we are called to be different than the rest of the world,
Jesus tells us to “be holy because I am holy“, how intimidating!  The only way this happens is through intentionally and setting our hearts toward a lifelong process of becoming more like Jesus!
 3.) To SERVE one another
4.) To LEAD one another to Jesus

How Do I Meet People?
Owingsville Christian is not a place for spectators. Instead you are encouraged to be a team member. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at this church.
Small Groups (Starting soon!)
Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, our church has small Bible studies held in member homes. The size of the group is anywhere from six to twelve people. At a time designated by your group leader you can participate in the small group study.
OCKids – Children Ministries
Each Sunday morning, our pastor gives a special message to our children during the service.  They then get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Each of the class teachers is carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction. The youth ministry of our church is recognized for their meaningful interaction with kids.
Young Adults
Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships. And a whole lot more decisions. The young adult group of our church provides a welcoming atmosphere for college and early-career aged young people.
Women’s Group (Soul Sisters)
Women’s groups give the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s groups, located in several locations throughout our community, are times of Bible study, prayer (and, of course, food). These groups provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.
Men’s Group
Accountability among men is an act of integrity. Our men’s group is designed to protect, encourage, and develop men of all ages. Accountability groups consist of three men each. Accountability groups meet together as their schedules allow and keep in touch by email or phone.
Married Couples
Even though marriage is one of the most important institutions, it is the one which is under the most attack–internally and externally. The church gives married couples the opportunity to join four month marriage classes including topics such as Marriage and Money, Getting Ready for Kids, Shepherding Children, and Marriage and Sex.
Over 50’s
Once you get past fifty, the fun has just begun. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the over-50 group of Owingsville Christian provides refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction. A mentoring ministry gives older believers a chance to meet with and help younger believers grow in Christ.
